Upper West Side Nanny Resented Her Employers, Police Say

This article was published in the New York Times today by William Rashbaum. According to the article, a nanny by the name of Yoselyn was seen stabbing the two children she takes of by their mother this past week in the family's bathroom. Rashbaum states that law enforcement have confirmed that Yoselyn said that her employers always told her what to do, and apparently, she was sick and tired of it. The mother walked in on her two children stabbed while Yoselyn was stabbing herself. Yoselyn survived, and made a statement in the hospital bed that yes, she was in the bathroom but did not confess to killing the children. Rashbaum quotes from a doctor that Yoselyn was not, in fact, medicated, but seemed 'spacey'. He leaves this up for interpretation, implying that this lady is insane and most likely on drugs. Rashbaum confirms that she has convicted with first-degree murder but does not know whether or not she has a lawyer. All in all, Rashbaum keeps this article strictly fact, and not opinion, seeing as it is the evaluation of a murder case and logos is the most important factor. Although he does not play into the pathos of the horrifying situation, he gets his point across with clear diction that is easy and simple to understand.
