Whats Next for Tumblr and Instagram

This article summarizes interviews conducted with David Karp, the chief executive of Tumblr, and Kevin Systrom, the chief executive of Instagram. It started with Systrom's interview. Systrom stated that he was not worried about Twitter adding filters to its photo service since he recently sold his company to Facebook. Also he will not be adding a video capacity for Instagram since that would occupy too much bandwith. The interview with David Karp was summarized shortly with Karp's discussion of the inability of people to add comments on Tumblr because he didnt want rude comments making people feel bad. Both sections are retold mostly through quotes or summaries of what each man said. The use of informal diction appeals to those who would read this article. The people who use Instagram and Tumblr trend towards the younger demographic and to get them to actually read this article the author Damin Darlin uses simple and laid back diction. His use of direct quotes was most effective for this article because it is a bout an interview so it makes sense to take their exact words instead of inserting his opinion or too much summary.
